The most dangerous people in the world are the ones who believe they are doing God’s work.

From ISIS to your own Mom.

If you are made to believe that you are working for the Supreme authority and rewards are guaranteed in the next life, no other employee, volunteer or soldier can match your commitment or undercut your CTC.

That is how crusades are launched, countries are divided and elections are won. Strategy is for the historians and statisticians to retrofit.

Managers can motivate but leaders can instigate. And unfortunately, even in the online world, Jungle law still prevails. People will rather believe in murderous fairy tales and than each other.

Guilt is the currency of all religions.

They start by belittling your current merely human existence. Lowering your self-worth to the point where you will resort to the most obnoxious of rituals and even indulge in violence for the promised deliverance.

Religion may be the fastest growing sector in our economy right now.

Religion is the new IT.

And it’s dangerous. Because at its height, IT offered us green cards. Religion offers us eternity.

Rabid hit squads, Gestapos and trolls are beyond reasoning. But when you see civilian friends slipping over the last Buoy of reason onto the Shutter Island of WhatsApp forwards, at least try to talk them back into some normalcy.

Science has reached a point where even the mention of religion ought be considered impolite in conversations. But one can only reach there after the basics of food, water and shelter have been met.

And that needs jobs and infrastructure. It is easier to send people on witch-hunts instead. Fat cats get fatter and the masses continue to live out their lives in quiet desperation.

May be it’s the scientists who are crazy. May be burning incense and dancing around bonfires are d right responses from primates who have cracked nuclear energy but have no general purpose in life. The least you can expect is they don’t hurt each other merely for sport…or paychecks
